Hello Mewa crafter behind our cross-body bags

Mewa Ngongang, a native of Cameroon, moved to Cape Town in 2009, drawn by South Africa's diversity and the hope of meeting Nelson Mandela.

Proud of his cultural roots, he embraced African attire during his studies at Cape Peninsula University of Technology, inspiring others and fueling his creativity.

Balancing academics and entrepreneurship, he graduated with distinction and designed functional products like laptop sleeves and wallets. Despite challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, he completed his Doctor of Engineering in 2020.

Mewa emphasizes that everyone has inner strength and motivation, likening life's challenges to a race between lions and gazelles, where survival depends on the effort one puts in.
